Learn More About Cavitation Therapy

What exactly is Cavitation Therapy?

Cavitation Therapy is a non-surgical body contouring treatment that uses ultrasonic waves to break down fat cells in your body. The low-frequency sound waves create microbubbles in the fat tissue, which then collapse and disrupt the fat cell membranes. This process releases stored fat into your lymphatic system, where it is naturally eliminated by your body.

Essentially, cavitation helps reduce unwanted fat without the need for invasive procedures.

During your initial cavitation session, our practitioner will ensure you’re comfortable and well-informed about the process.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Initial Consultation. You’ll complete a health questionnaire where you discuss your body goals and target areas.
  • Preparation. The treatment area will be cleaned, and a conductive gel may be applied to optimize the ultrasound waves.
  • The Session. A handheld device is used to deliver ultrasonic waves to the designated areas for approximately 30-60 minutes, depending on your personalized treatment plan.
  • Post-Treatment. There’s no downtime – simply resume your daily activities. Some clients may experience slight redness or a warm sensation in the treated area, but this typically subsides quickly.

To maximize the benefits of your cavitation treatment, we recommend you do the following:

  • Hydrate. Drink plenty of water before and after your session to help your body flush out the released fat. Ideally, you should grow your water intake up to a gallon a day.
  • Avoid Blood Thinners. Do not take aspirin/ibuprofen or any vitamins that might thin the blood in the 72 hours before your treatment.
  • Detox. We suggest detoxing 24 hours prior to your treatment (detoxing twice a week may yield longer-lasting results).
  • Limit Drink Types. Try to minimize carbonated drinks, coffees, and any teas that are not for detoxing.
  • No Food Before or After. Avoid eating during the 2 hours prior to your treatment and for 2 hours afterward. After that, make sure to eat as normal so your body knows it is being fueled and won’t reject the treatment trying to hold onto any fat cells.
  • Wear Comfortable Clothing. Choose loose, easy-to-remove attire that allows access to the areas you want us to treat.
  • Follow Any Pre-Treatment Guidelines. Your practitioner may provide additional specific instructions based on your individual needs.

While you are receiving cavitation treatments, we also recommend refraining from eating breads, rice, pastas, sodas, cookies, candies, or any other unhealthy foods.

Many clients begin to notice improvements after just a few sessions, and some reduction in stubborn fat deposits may be visible after only one session.

That being said, results can vary based on individual factors, and your treatment plan will be customized based on your unique goals and progress, ensuring the best possible outcomes.

Typically, a series of 6-10 sessions 1-2 times a week is recommended to achieve your desired body contouring results.

There are several things we recommend to help you achieve optimal results:

  • Drink at least 1 liter of water immediately following your appointment and throughout the week to flush out released toxins.
  • Do a minimum of 20 minutes of elevated heart rate cardio exercise soon after the treatment and for three days following to burn off the stored energy released by the cavitation process. Infrared sauna sessions can also help.
  • Maintain a low-calorie, low-carbohydrate, low-fat, and low-sugar diet for 24 hours pre-treatment and three days post-treatment to ensure your body utilizes triglycerides (a type of body fat) released by the cavitation process.
  • Use a body brush in the shower to promote movement around the treatment area.

Cavitation Therapy is generally considered safe when administered by a trained professional. However, there are some things to keep in mind:

  • Mild Side Effects. Some individuals might experience temporary redness, slight swelling, or a mild warming sensation in the treated area.
  • Not for Everyone. Those with certain health conditions, such as liver or kidney issues, should consult their doctor before beginning treatment.
  • Professional Guidance. Always ensure that a qualified practitioner, like our team at Zenia, conducts your sessions to minimize any risks and tailor the procedure to your needs.

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had, hands down! Such a clean and nice facility. Very relaxing, would recommend to anyone!
